Overview & Responsibilities
Position Summary: Increase the Sales team’s net sales, both in property and insured funerals, to achieve a weekly sales plan. Support and motivate Sales Counselors to achieve personal success, as well as the overall success of the sales team. Consistently recruit and develop new sales counselors monthly.

Consistently meet monthly and quarterly net sales quotas in both property and insured funeral sales.
Noticeably improve, collectively, by increasing sales and reducing team cancellation rates to 15% or less in insured funeral sales and 5% or less in property sales.
Develop and train two new Sales Counselors each sales month and retain, quarterly, at least four new Sales Counselors who meet or exceed the minimum sales standard.
Lead, develop, and staff the Sales Team to meet or exceed the weekly and monthly team sales quota.
Ensure that every New Hire completes the Company’s New Counselor Training Program, and attends the Department Sales Training programs as scheduled.
Continually seek out, observe, listen to your Sales Counselors, and implement practices to best help them succeed in prospecting, presenting, and selling.
Go into the field with the Sales Counselors, to teach and observe their prospecting, presentation, and closing skills and techniques.
Ensure support of the Company core values and guidelines, and encourage the Sales Team to follow the example.
Build team morale and respect for the Company, for management, and for fellow associates.
Join and participate in local community organizations and activities in accordance with the Company’s community relations goals.
Deal diplomatically with interruptions, changing priorities, high volume of work (with accuracy), and deadlines.
Must be able to multi-task, set priorities, and organize work.
Adhere to Company policies, procedures, rules, and controls.
Adhere to safety rules and regulations, and report unsafe practices to management.
Act on customer complaints to provide satisfactory resolution.
Participate in training and skill development opportunities to improve competency and customer service.
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience and Education
- Two years sales experience, with one of those years preferred in the funeral service industry
Warmth, compassion, empathy
Diplomacy under pressure
Good sales and closing techniques
High level of written and verbal communication skill
Cultural sensitivity to the diverse community that Rose Hills serves
Valid CA Driver’s License
Safely drive personal vehicle
PC skill with MSWord, Excel, and Outlook
Must be self-starter and detail oriented.
Problem solving and conflict resolution
Bilingual preferred, but not required
