Overview & Responsibilities
The Workday HCM Technical Support Analyst in Houston, TX performs a full range of advanced activities that ensure the operational effectiveness and excellence of the corporate HR function.
Analytical and technical responsibilities include:
Leads and supports HR and Payroll projects for enhancements, inquiries, errors and data issues. Assists team members and users with issues associated with Workday HCM by investigating problems and resolving or providing detailed recommendations on resolutions. Collaborates with business owners on HR and Payroll related integrations including the management of current integrations as well as the development and implementation of future integrations.
Identifies and understands issues, problems and opportunities. Recommends process improvements and innovative or alternative solutions. Provides advice and options on the best way to automate processes in the system.
Responsible for evaluating system upgrades and modifications, including identifying requirements, configuration, testing, and deployment. Provides system mass update support via EIBs for all functional areas of Workday HCM.
Gather, build, test and document requirements for Workday HCM, Payroll, Time Tracking, Absence, Benefits, and Talent Management. Effectively translates user requirements into technical specifications. Creates, modifies and supports a variety of standard and advanced reports. Provides advanced experience with the building, maintenance and documentation of calculated fields.

Requirements & Qualifications
- Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
A minimum of two (2) years of technical and operational knowledge of Workday HCM with strong configuration familiarity including complex calculated fields, custom objects, security, advanced & matrix report writing, core connectors and custom integrations
Hands on experience with Workday Studio is a plus
Understanding of SQL and relational database.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
