SCI Shared Resources LLC Corporate - Application Testing Coordinator in Houston, Texas

Overview & Responsibilities

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Oversees all of the Sales Application Testing which includes patch testing, regression testing and special project testing. Determines the amount of time and resources needed to conduct testing. Escalates testing issues to management’s attention.

SPECIFIC RESPONSBILITIES

80% Test Coordination and Preparation

  • Determines the amount of time it will take to test items to be included in a release. Assigns test items to resources as appropriate.

  • Ensures testing is complete as required to meet release dates.

  • Estimates the amount of time that it takes to perform each of the regression tests. Ensures the proper resources are available and assigned.

  • Oversees the creation and writing of scenarios for each of the regression test items or special projects.

  • Provides updates and prepares testing reports on the progress of the testing being conducted.

  • Communicates with the Development Team and Application Support team.

  • Leads all patch related testing meetings including kickoff and update meetings.

  • Communicates expectations and timelines with local and 3rd party testing groups.

  • Escalates testing issues to management as needed.

20% Testing

  • Review and test issues that get escalated from the testing team.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree

Experience:

  • Three (3) years of business system application testing experience

  • Experience in testing software

  • Expertise in test planning, troubleshooting, and debugging

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. Ability to work in a demanding, complex and fast-paced environment

  2. Knowledge of Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Outlook and Windows

  3. Customer-service oriented

  4. Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks to completion, assess time frames and work both independently and with a team

  5. Good judgment and good communication skills

  6. Ability to come up with comprehensive test cases

  7. Ability to self-start and work with minimum direction is critical

  8. Strong problem solving and debugging skills
